Search & Answers

If you navigate to the Vita Mojo Analytics Search section, you’ll find an intuitive search mechanism to query a data source.

This allows you to self-serve custom Answers or quickly answer niche business questions without having to wait for the support of a data team. This allows you to access the data you need to make important business decisions in real-time.

The search functionality can be found in the menu on Management Panels 2.0. 

💬 Using the search bar

Our relational search makes it simple to create search strings, so anyone can use it! Just start typing what you might be interested in and we will suggest possible data sources. 

Once you have built your search string hit GO!

🧱 Building a search query

When building your search queries it is best to think of the sentence you're trying to answer first. For example, how many burgers did we sell in California last month?

You would then break down your question into up to 4 data elements.

• Measure
• Attribute 
• Keyword 
• Filter

❓ Example searches

1. What are yesterdays net sales by channel? 

2. What are the daily net sales for the last 30 days?

3. What is last week net sales for meal deals exclusive of service charge?

4. What are the list of Products sold by channel for a specific store for last month?

🟢 Saving searches

If you run a search that you would like to save for later you have 2 options: 

1. Pin to a Liveboard

2. Create an Answer

You can save the results of any search and share these with other people. Your saved searches appear on the Answers page. 

• Create a search
• Save the search using the three dots in the right-hand corner of the screen

• Name your Answer

• • • Note, if “Make this answer discoverable” is selected, then all other users who have access to the data source on which the content is built will get access to this answer.
• Find your saved search in the Answer section

📧 How to Share an Answer (Saved Search)

• Once a Search is saved as a Answer, on the top tight, click the “share” icon

• Select the user name - email address - you want to share the Answer with

• Use your tenant name to share will all users
