Below outlines the steps which should be taken to connect an Epson printer to iPad KDS/POS devices via Network, USB, or Bluetooth
Step 1 - Connecting the device
Via Network
- Before you power up the printer, connect the ethernet cable from the ethernet port to the printer to ensure it is connected to the network.
- Power up the printer. If the printer is successfully connected to the network a small receipt will print after a few seconds. The receipt contains the MAC address and the IP address. ⚠️ Keep this on hand and ensure you know from which printer it comes (in the case where you are using multiple printers). ⚠️
Via USB
- Ensure you have a USB B to Type C lead
- Connect the USB to the printer USB port named iPad 2.1A. This is located at the bottom of the printer
- Connect the USB C end of the cable to the iPad
- The printer will flash for around 30 seconds and then display just one blue round symbol to confirm the connection has been found.
- Please make sure the iPad is now charging. This will let you know the printer is connected correctly
- Go to the iPad settings > Bluetooth settings and ensure Bluetooth is OFF.
Via Bluetooth
Go to Step 2 - Via Bluetooth
Step 2 - Launching the Vita Mojo App
- Select the Vita Mojo app on the iPad
- Sign into the Vita Mojo App

- Here you can filter by discovery type, if you have multiple printers, and need to determine by Network, Bluetooth, or USB.
- Select "Search for Printers"
- Once loaded, if Network, you will see a list of IPs. Match this to the IP shown in the receipt from Step 1 and select
- Click Save
- Navigate back to the New Order Screen. You should be good to go.
Via Bluetooth - POS1 (POS2 has slightly different UI on the Vita Mojo app)
- Enter iPad settings, turn Bluetooth on, and Scan for devices.
- Select Printer (Normally named TM30-XX) - Example shown below.
- After connecting login to the Vita Mojo POS app and navigate to the Device Settings (or Settings V2)
- Tick Enable Printer
- On port type click the drop down and select PortType_Bluetooth and then click start discovery. Then you will need to select the printer with the MAC address that matches your printer (sticker on printer, or receipt) and click save settings. The screen should look like the below and you should get the success message below also.
⚠️ If you have a mixture of POS1 and POS2 Screens, you may have to complete this step:
- If you have the SettingsV2 screen you may also need to action here. Usually this will auto-populate if you have added it in the above settings screen. If you need to add again please click add & manage printers, select the port type Bluetooth, Search for printers and select the correct printer, Save. After this Test if all is working.
Step 3 - Testing the Printer
-
Click on the left-side panel
-
Go to Orders History
-
Click on a previous order.
If you can’t see an order for today, select a past date with orders -
